If The Koch Brothers Only Channeled Their Money For Good.....
I caught about 45 minutes worth of Koch Brothers Exposed today on Current TV. I wish it was on "On Demand" because I would be able to watch the whole thing. Anyway I was blown away by the money that they are spending that goes against all we stand for in this country. Voter suppression. Doing away with Social Security and Medicare. EPA regulations. Unions. Minimum wages. And all the money they are giving to politicians to help their cause and all the Think Tanks that they fund.
I was just thinking if they spent that money for good what would this country look like.
Just think if they supported a decent days wage. Just think if they supported unions. People would be feeling good about themselves again and start spending money. They would buy more of the Koch Brothers products. They would be paying SS taxes, income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes and the government would have more money in the coffers to support programs that the Kochs say are going broke. When people have jobs and a decent wage and they start feeling good about themselves - everything starts falling into place and works again.
I got to think that if they didn't fight the EPA regs with all that money that it would probably be a wash if they complied to EPA regulations to clean up their industries. We would all benefit by clean air and perhaps less threat of global climate change.
One's got to wonder about all the politicians that are on the take from the Kochs as well. Again - a short-sighted gain for them. All of them have extended families that will be effected by all the things that the Kochs want to do away with. How do these politicians justify this. Do they think they will be so enriched and taken care of by the Kochs that it won't effect them or their families. Or do the Kochs have some dirt on these guys and if they don't play ball - they will expose them. I don't know - but I couldn't help think that if the Kochs channeled their money for good that it would even be immensely better for them as well. Why do these two old guys want to have such a negative legacy? Why do they want to be remembered for all the harm that they've done to people? I just don't get it.
