And anti-vaxxer propaganda? If there's any valuable lesson that we should learn from the COVID pandemic, it's that when (if) a vaccine becomes available, we *ALL* need to be vaccinated against this or you might as well not vaccinate any of us.
We've seen how dangerous anti-vaxxer propaganda can be. Last year, there was a measles outbreak at UCLA when an infected individual attended classes and caused the whole campus to be shut down. That's the kind of thing that anti-vaxxer propaganda can lead to.
If they want to get sick and die from these diseases, that's their prerogative. But as long as this virus exists, it's in charge and it will dictate our future and the future of social behaviors. If we all want to see some kind of pre-virus normalcy resume, we all need to be in this together. Those who are pushing this dangerous narrative on social media websites should be treated as criminals and terrorists.
They can get thousands of people infected, which can lead to thousands of deaths, and these social media websites like Facebook and Twitter need to be made aware of the content that is appearing on their websites. The WHO identified anti-vaccination crusaders as one of the world's biggest health problems. In this crisis? That needs to be dealt with as harshly as we deal with murderers. I do realize this is treading into policing speech territory, but in the world of a nightmare virus that may never go away, that is a fine line that is being drawn.
