They know they are wrong.. they know he is as evil as they come..but they have made that deal with the devil and will stick to their pact..and as Trump is exposed more and more for the craven character he is, they will become more passionate in their support..
Case in point.. only 10% of all the German people were members of the Nazi party..but fear drove many to turn a blind eye to the cruelty and inhumanity of the Nazis..
Fear drives that 10% that will go to the grave being true Trumpians..and fear drives those who are complicit by support of Trump..
That 10% is loud and noisy and scary as hell.
But remember human beings are by their very nature a herd animal.. and we can bring many back from the edge.. they do not have to stay with the crazy.. they can come back to normalcy..some we can't.. and we should not be afraid to stand up to them..
I am hopeful that not only are the Democrats going to be out in numbers to take down Trump, but I am hoping above all hopes, that we can bring back many of the others who crossed a line to join that herd, and now are afraid to be alone. Bring them back to some sense of normalcy..
We cannot let our country be dissolved on the whims of a would be dictator..

(10,231 posts)Little rural town, heavy Dutch background, not that means much. It seems like the Dutch who live in Europe are kind of progressive. Maybe thats why certain ons emigrated. The town was supposedly the model for that movie Footloose back in the 80s where dancing was illegal. The biggest bunch of hypocrites Ive ever had the displeasure of being around. Rabid anti immigrants which I always found amusing. Lots of drunks that condemned drinking; there was a bar just outside town limits that was always packed. I am sure theyd all be trump supporters, Fox watchers, and anti mask wearers and nothing would sway them. I cant say I understood them but could easily predict which side of any issue theyd take. Maybe if some of them got Covid and died they might change their minds but more likely theyd convince themselves it was a Lib conspiracy somehow. Facts just dont have any effect in them. Id say a big part of it was a herd mentality. Maybe if you took them out of their community, individually they might open their eyes. Maybe.

(2,186 posts)And stacking/stuffing/packing the courts with lifelong idiot right-wing-nuts is all they focus on.
All funded by the super-rich & mega-corporations that are the real beneficiaries of the protections the courts will provide for them. And if all that money/influence (Koch bros, etc.) couldn't do it, they've got Russia & China & God-only-knows who else putting their fingers on the scales.
They all make me sick.
