Projecting the religious/racial bigotry of a handful on all Republicans is dangerous, because it makes our understanding of the state of the Election flawed, and potentially affects how we act in the final month. There are plenty of people who will vote against President Obama because 1) they don't want Government interfering in theor lives, 2) they want their taxes cut, or 3) they're Republicans and he's not. And to many of them, Romney is a perfectly adequate if uninspiring candidate.
