U.S. Senate candidate and former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach reported that he had four guns stolen from his pickup truck that was parked at a Wichita hotel.
Officers responded to a call from Kobach around 11:30 a.m. Saturday at a hotel parking garage, Wichita police said. Investigators believe someone broke into Kobach's pickup overnight and took a rifle, two shotguns and a handgun.
A spokeswoman for the Republican's campaign said he was in Wichita for a campaign event and had the long guns with him for a scheduled shooting event.
Campaign spokeswoman Danedri Herbert said Kobach also always has at least one firearm with him for personal protection.
(Which appartently he leaves in his vehicle?)

(31,997 posts)it was remodeled within the last 6=8 years. Instead of letting go of the house keepers and others, they helped remodel and kept their jobs while it was closed.
We have used it as a weekend "getaway" because of the hot tub and pool.
It is a magnificent building.

(22,166 posts)secure. Now there are four guns loose on the streets because of his sloppy safekeeping, hopefully not any young kids or inexperienced kids who could shoot themselves by accident and/or turn around and sell the guns to more nefarious elements.
If it were me (and it's not), I would have had the guns stored in a more secure fashion, e.g., perhaps the hotel check-in had a storage facility available for client's valuables or at least in his hotel room (unless they had a 'no guns' policy).

Just general rules of thumb.
