Trump Claims Media Is “Trying to Covid Shame Us on Our Big Rallies”

Donald Trump has lashed out at the media amid concerns that his political rallies could contribute to the spread of Covid-19. The President took to Twitter to defend his campaign events.

The Far Left Fake News Media, which had no Covid problem with the Rioters & Looters destroying Democrat run cities, is trying to Covid Shame us on our big Rallies,” Trump wrote.

“Won’t work!”

Trump’s attack on the media and the protesters came shortly after he touted the large number of people who want to attend his upcoming rally in Tulsa.

“Almost One Million people request tickets for the Saturday Night Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma!” he tweeted.

This is despite the fact that the venue only holds around 20,000 people and serious questions have already been raised about the numbers his campaign has been bragging about.

The President went on to falsely claim that U.S. testing for Coronavirus is the best in the world.

“Our testing is so much bigger and more advanced than any other country (we have done a great job on this!) that it shows more cases,” Trump said.

“Without testing, or weak testing, we would be showing almost no cases. Testing is a double edged sword – Makes us look bad, but good to have!!!”

Wording is hard....

Oh, and the protestors are, to a great extent, wearing masks. They are also outside, not inside.

For an arena that holds less than 20K.

The population of Tulsa is only about 400ishK.

I seriously doubt the sanity of anyone affiliated with this administration.

And you should be shamed. You're shameful.

Risking the lives of your followers and the people they'll spread it to just to boost your ego. I'd call that shameful.

that when the day after the rally comes and no one has contracted the virus, that he will say "I told you so." Ten days or two weeks later when people get sick, he will deny that it was because of his function. Perhaps the ones who get very ill will have the patriotism to crawl off and die where no one can find their bodies.....

Although I have felt some unease about the protesting in terms of potential for COVID spread (but when are protests against injustice ever convenient?), the protesters and probable Trump rally goers are NOT the same group of people with the same mentality regarding public health and the Trump rally goers are likely going to be far less likely to try to socially distance and/or wear protective gear (if they even believe in the existence of COVID to begin with).

Always dumb, always lying. First, there have IN FACT been a lot of conversations on the media about concerns with the protests and the potential spread of COVID-19. It has been a definite part of the discussion regarding the civil protest movement over police racism and brutality. People support the protests, but they are worried that it could exacerbate the pandemic. Second, there is a MAJOR difference between an organic, civil rights protest movement inspiring people to take to the streets to express their outrage about centuries of systemic mistreatment and brutalization of people of color AND a political rally for an insecure little man. Trump can have his rally in a controlled setting with less people for the purposes of being safe and following health guidelines. HE IS CHOOSING to put people at risk AND is trying to have them sign waivers to limit his liability because HE KNOWS he is putting everyone at risk.

He's lying on testing too. We all know it. We are not testing more than any other country per capita, which is the key to proper testing and tracing. China tested 9 million people in 10 days to try to snuff out a reemergence of COVID in Wuhan. South Korea tested heavily at the beginning and traced and got ahead of the virus and contained it. Everything he says is only to try to make himself look better or keep himself out of trouble.
