When Will The Oil Companies Start Raising The Price Of Gas....

to make up for all the money they've lost through this Covid shutdown. You know somehow we'll wind up paying for their losses.

I'm thinking gas prices will start to climb after Biden's inauguration.

Gives the Repugs and Trump something to harp on. 'See the Dems are in power now and prices are going up.'

For a while, gas was down to less than $1.30.
I think the lowest I paid with my 6¢ discount card was $1.189.
When it went back up, it SHOT up! About 70¢ overnight.
It still doesn't make sense though.
For 7 weeks plus, they were pumping 100 million bbl/day, when demand fell to under 65 million.
They pumped nearly 1.7 billion barrels nobody needed.
At normal demand, that's 18 days of supply.
Gas prices should not have spiked back up this fast.

He/she is referring to the collapse in oil prices caused by Putin attempting to screw over the Saudis late least year. It backfired on him, causing the price to drop to something like -$34/barrel. That amounted to having to pay people to take the oil off their hands. The goddamned imbecile who is currently squatting in the White House, rather than taking the oil off the hands of the producers for our reserves, provided our Strategic Oil Reserve as free storage. Rather than help out his own country, he catered to the oil thugs. Which is why we didn't see gas prices go down at the time. The demand was still there, but they had a free place to park the excess.

All of what you wrote is concurrent to what I stated.
Not sure how you thought I didn't know that information.

for a very short time where I live in central Washington state. Now it's back up to $2.30 a couple of weeks ago when I filled up, and as much as $2.50 at other stations.

We do have a .50 cent tax, but it seems to be going up every other week or so. I would not be surprised if it didn't go up to $3.00 or more in my area. I think it will depend on how many people are traveling come the 4th of July. It has always gone up from July until after Labor day.
