"The ramp I descended was very long & steep, had no handrail &, most importantly, was very slippery"

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery. The last thing I was going to do is “fall” for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!

I saw a few of Aaron Rupar's video clips on Twitter...Trump is still unable to drink water, he did an "Apprentice" build-up to his birthday tomorrow that was met with silence, and he continues to slur words and get lost in his train of thought. People can do the math on all of that and draw whatever conclusions they'd like, but the hashtag #TrumpIsNotWell IS trending on Twitter, whether he likes it or not.

Bad arthritis in one knee makes going down stairs a problem. Ramps are a bit easier, depending on the pitch. It's just one of the many things that come with age: some people are lucky and it doesn't hit them until very late, others start having mobility issues earlier on. If he weren't in such denial and hadn't shown such contempt for differently-abled people in the past I'd cut him some slack.

Judging from the clip, though, the ramp should have had a rail.

is that he feels the need to lie about it. I'm not that much younger than he is but I've kept in pretty good shape my entire adult life. However, I've clearly noticed how much more careful I am in these types of situations, how much slower I am at doing things, how I've eliminated some things from my life because I'm in my 70's. There's no shame in admitting it. It happens to all of us. Trying to pretend it doesn't is a rude awakening for some people. For some people it's just the denial phase in the aging process. I tend to be more of a realist. One of the reasons I do things slower, especially walking, is not because I'm not physically fit. It's because I have one eye with wet macular degeneration, so things are wavy/blurry sometimes. If I tripped on something it would more likely be due to misjudging where I am in relation to a step.

And if some on DU are thinking that Joe Biden doesn't have some physical limitations then you're kidding yourselves. On this point, it isn't fair to compare the Orange Buffoon to President Obama.

As I said, I'll give him a pass on this. What I'll never give him a pass on is being so narcissistic that he thinks we all believe his bullshit.

not the physical ones that come with aging. Some senior voters might not take kindly to making such a big deal over the fact that he can't bound down the ramp because they can relate more to what it's like to be judged by the limitations that come with aging.

This particular episode just seems petty to me, but then I lean towards focusing on the real harm his decisions are doing to our country. I despise him as much as the next person on this forum, but let's focus on what's important.
