Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsNot only is Candy Crowley hosting a debate - she is hosting the one on foreign affairs.
Well it's on foreign and domestic affairs.
(Bob Scheiffer is doing the one on just foreign relations).
Someone is going to have to explain that one to me.
If it's on foreign relations, why wouldn't it be someone with some experience, like Christiane Amanpour?
Candy Crowley? Seriously?

(2,163 posts)She's the Whitehouse corespondent for CNN
The question is will she really be tough and not allow them to wander off from the original question asked.
I hate when politicians do that.

(50,339 posts)and move on to become out and out shills for the republicans, she is one, imo. Her 'tough' questions are uniformly directed to one party only, she saves her softball throws for hers. She was, in essence, embedded with the bush admin, carrying forth their talking points with evangelical fervor.
I have NO respect for her, haven't had any for years.
CNN, had they any integrity, they would have put forward Christiane Amanpour instead.

(2,163 posts)I don't want to see any moderator asking softball questions to Romney or President Obama.
I think it's the worst form of journalism.
Spazito
(50,339 posts)it is, in essence, merely regurgitating.
A moderator should be, used to be, someone respected as neutral, someone who has earned the respect from all sides and can be trusted to ask the hard questions of all, fairly and without bias. Are they any to be found today? I believe Christiane Amanpour would be one were she to be the moderator. Few, if any, others, imo.

She better not shill for mitt..she'd better prove us wrong.

(2,163 posts)I don't think being a moderator is his style but he is one hell of a reporter.

(2,163 posts)It still doesn't negate the question asked of each.
Can you tell me a completely unbiased moderator in any national debate?

(3,491 posts)person asking the questions.

(2,163 posts)I don't watch CNN much but the debate she's moderating is a town hall debate.
Most of the questions will be from audience members .
At least that's the way it sounds like.
I don't know if that's a good format for a foreign policy debate.
