Flailing: Mitt is boxed in and doesn't have a plan.

The Republicans want to talk about unemployment. Let's accommodate them.

by Laurence Lewis

The Republicans would prefer to change the subject from the latest appalling proof that Mitt Romney is fundamentally unfit to be even within the same zip code as the Oval Office. They would much prefer that everyone focus on unemployment. Because we are nice people, let's accommodate them. Because this election very quickly is moving past the question of who will be president next year, and now is more about control of next year's Congress. This election also has become about reframing false political narratives, for the benefit of Democrats, the nation, the world, and the very concept of truth, going forward.

The Republicans have no credibility on deficits. The Republicans have no credibility on national security. For decades, both have been all but ceded as Republican strengths, despite plenty of evidence that they shouldn't be. On those issues, Democrats have often played on the Republican home field, to the detriment of everyone. The Republicans would like for the same dynamic to pertain on the economy and unemployment. At the end of last week, while President Obama was enjoying the early indications of what we now know is a substantial post-Convention bounce, Republicans rejoiced at the release of a lousy jobs report. They were sure that would deflate what they deluded themselves into believing was but a temporary Obama polling bubble. It's the economy, stupid—Republicans rejoiced. And it is the economy. And unemployment still will be one of the key issues in this election, up and down the ballot. But not in the way Republicans think.

President Obama and the Democrats have tried to pass jobs bills. The Republicans killed the American Jobs Act. The Republicans killed the jobs bill that would have repaired our badly crumbling national infrastructure. The Republicans killed the jobs bill that would have given tax cuts to small businesses that create jobs. They're even holding up a bill specifically designed to create jobs for military veterans. The Republicans don't care about creating jobs. Republicans do care about playing politics over jobs, obstructing bills that would actually create jobs so they can exploit the lack of jobs for political gain.

Mitt lacks credibility and has no plan.

Pueblo is only about 40 minutes from Colorado Springs, which is a high-density fundie area. They would definitely drop down there to cheer on Their Savior.

To spoil a Sunday afternoon in Pueblo? Really? The only reason they are supporting him, is they hate Obama more. They don't like him, nor do they trust him....Romney lost Colorado to Santorum during the primaries.

I doubt Mitt canceled an event involving "thousands" of supporters this late in the campaign. There wasn't even a contingency plan. Couldn't they have delayed the event? It was at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Mitt likely canceled it because of low turnout. Seems like he ceding Colorado.

With all the fundies there, that's one of the states Romney should pick up handily.

Romney has spent the weekend at his Belmont, Mass., home, taking a day off the trail on Saturday to watch one of his grandsons play soccer. In the evening, he went out to an Italian restaurant with his wife, Ann, and their son Tagg and Tagg’s wife Jen.

Wrong part.

You need to land in Peterson Air Force Base, next time...

Your fundies (all twelve of them) are disappointed that they have to make an hour's trek back north because you didn't bother to show up.

9. CNN - Battleground polls: Is Romney's path to the White House now more difficult?
Sun Sep 16, 2012, 08:55 PM
Sep 2012

CNN looks at the Romney campaign's "3-2-1" strategy:

The polls suggest it may be more difficult for Romney to achieve a "3-2-1" pathway to the 270 electoral votes need to win the White House:

TAKE BACK THREE KEY STATES: The "3" in that plan consists of recapturing the three states that Obama won in 2008 that historically have voted Republican in presidential elections: Indiana, North Carolina, and Virginia. While Indiana appears to be safe for Romney, recent polling in North Carolina indicated a competitive race, and the new numbers out Thursday in Virginia suggest the Romney campaign has a tough job ahead in the Commonwealth.

WIN FLORIDA, OHIO: The "2" in the strategy calls for regaining Florida and Ohio, which George W. Bush won in his 2004 re-election but that Obama flipped in his 2008 victory over Sen. John McCain. Again, the NBC/WSJ/Marist polls indicate that the Romney campaign will have to work hard to achieve this goal.

GRAB ONE MORE: The "1" in the Romney pathway to victory is to win just one more competitive state that Obama carried four years ago. They include Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Wisconsin.

...

"The president appears to have a small but slightly growing lead over Romney compared to a few weeks ago. This contest is not out of reach for Romney, but the math favors the president," says CNN Chief National Correspondent John King.
