(66,462 posts)An endorsement may or may not convince a supporter of the endorser to support the candidate, but that's one of the goals.
Also, with most endorsements from high-level figures like governors, senators, and so on, comes the campaigning and voter registration mechanisms of the endorser, lists of phone numbers, e-mail addresses, names of precinct captains, names of campaign rally organizers who can bring thousands of people to your campaign speech at a moment's notice, etc.

(15,149 posts)I had never heard of Charles Booker until recently. I thought Amy McGrath was the only Dem running for Senate in Kentucky. I think he's very interesting (although Bernie's endorsements haven't been very effective).
Anybody who can defeat Rich Mich is OK in my book.
