The man in the White House is not a very good carpenter.
However, he is good at kicking down barns.
But, when called out for making too much noise, he said we were going to build huge barns, great barns, beautiful barns, to replace them.
We are still waiting for those wonderful barns...

(58,785 posts)virtually no one seems to wonder if he's deliberately using his enormous power to hurt over 300 million people -- because he can. I think he has been all along.
It's not just the left. Conservatives he expects to be unquestioningly loyal to him, "my people," have been disappointing (betraying) him constantly to varying degrees since before he was elected. They let him down very badly at his inauguration by not beating Obama's crowd.
Trump can accept nothing less than 100% loyalty and obedience. When he gets it, he stops charming those now in his power and starts persecuting. When he doesn't get it, he becomes enraged and vengeful.
I'm remembering his playing with a cheering crowd of happy loyalists at a rally by "promising" them he was going to eliminate coverage for preexisting conditions, smiling, looking around as the cheers wavered, then doing one of his cheerleader prompts to bring the volume back up, and up it dutifully came.
