(24,370 posts)They had the temerity to question the authority of people who don't like it in the least when that happens.
THAT'S what they did.
THE FUCKING COPS ARE OUT OF CONTROL IN THIS COUNTRY.
Sure looked like a peaceful protest until the bikers arrived.

(5,641 posts)That's the problem. They want to turn peaceful protest violent.
The violence is started by police...

(10,053 posts)so the two of them decided to bully on a woman. I do not understand how the police in the US can even expect anyone to have respect for them. Until they get rid of assholes like this, I would never trust them.
Notice it was the fat toad (im fat so I can say that...lol) who was the main aggressor? Obvious loser who has the "I have a badge so I'm a tough guy" syndrome...reminds me of Cartman from South Park "you will respect my authoritaaaa" fkn puke.

(2,472 posts)They did it to Occupy. They do it at the RNC. They did it at the pipeline protests. It's SOP with them. Screaming, shoving, batons, flash bangs, rubber bullets, bicycle ramming, kettling people so they have nowhere to go then using tear gas on them. Using tear gas is a war crime, but they don't care. It's just what they do at protests, only most people don't attend protests and don't witness it and when they happen to see a video they somehow think it's a one time thing. It isn't. Now everybody's seeing what we've seen.

(25,981 posts)She still managed to disarm the asshole, and it took more than one of them to hold her down. She took one for the team by drawing them away from others.
I hope they get fired. There's no excuse.

(snips)
Prosecutors dismissed the charges against Evan Gorski, 21, an engineering student, after viewing the YouTube and Twitter videos, according to his attorney, R. Emmett Madden.

Inspector Sekou Kinebrew, a Philadelphia police spokesperson, declined to comment Thursday on the circumstances of Gorskis arrest, but said the incident is being investigated by the departments Internal Affairs Division. The propriety of the tactics employed will be included in that investigation, Kinebrew said.
So the injured protester was a guy, not a gal. Regardless, there's no excuse for using brutal responses on unarmed citizens that have no malicious intent.
By the way, that tweet was not from Morgan Freeman the actor. Bio from his twitter page:
Father, filmmaker and fierce opposer of Trump. Not the actor!

(54,408 posts)The brutish Frank Rizzo was police commissioner then. He was so proud of the way his cops used to beat protesters (Vietnam back then), that he used to wear a nightstick in the cummerbund of his tuxedo on formal occasions. Apparently nothing has changed in the last 50 years.
When Rizzo ran for mayor in 1971, he ran as a Democrat. It was the first time I was able to vote, and it was the only time I ever cast my vote for a Republican. It was a sobering lesson in civics for me: the bad guys sometimes win.
