Around 10 p.m., Times employees put out a public statement through their union excoriating management for its irresponsible choice in publishing the column and for promoting hate.
Good for them.

I'm glad my dad, Helen Thomas and Scotty Reston never lived to see it. They were journalists of another era entirely.

the editor exists for a reason: to filter misleading and false statements disguised as facts. A newspaper should have information that is reliable.
