When you're old and knocked on your ass like that you'll bounce your head on the sidewalk.
I'd say large concussion at the least.

...those cops may get desk duty. We will never get their names. If they get fired, they will be hired on other police forces. If allowed to stay on, this action will not stop them from getting promoted.

This is the corrupt culture we're up against. We have a problem.

All I can think about is how I would feel if that were my 77 year old father. Probably suffered a severe concussion, not out of the woods I am sure, but being alert is such a relief.

This is heartbreaking the brutality police are inflicting on our citizens. This is not what a free country does to people. Just terribly sad.

Sickening. Maybe someone’s grandfather, someone’s husband, or father. Brutalized and maybe laying there dying and the 30 officers who are supposed to help people just walk over him.

Do you have to be a sociopath to get accepted to the police academy now? What is wrong with these people?

VIDEO: Man injured after being shoved by police during protest in Buffalo

There is a video if one clicks on the link, it's the same video that's in the OP.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man was taken away in an ambulance after being injured at the end of Thursday’s protest in Niagara Square.

A video that News 4 obtained from WBFO shows a man, who appears to be elderly, appearing to be pushed back by police before falling backward and hitting his head by the steps of Buffalo City Hall.

Police originally said that “one person was injured when he tripped and fell”. It’s not clear whether they were referring to the incident that was caught on camera.

Later in the night, Buffalo Police Department Capt. Jeff Rinaldo said that internal affairs has opened an investigation into the incident, and that the investigation was ordered by the commissioner of police.

Buffalo Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood has ordered both officers involved in the incident suspended immediately without pay.

State police medics aided the injured man, and a source says that he suffered a laceration and a possible concussion. He’s reported to be in ECMC in stable condition.

I remember Kent State, so I am surprised to feel that way. The NG is not being trained to see US citizens as the enemy these days, and they take their oath seriously. I am so glad they helped this man, and likely saved his life.

The sad part is, there are so many other pictures of police kneeling with protestors, joining the march, and even joining in with dancing. There has to be a way to find out which communities have police who connect with citizens like that, how they manage to do it, and carry that through to other departments.

We need to get rid of the head busters. They're not protectors, they are a menace.

The National Guard established a cordon which extended for a few blocks beyond campus. Naturally, my apartment was inside the cordon, so I had to show proof I lived inside the cordon and had to be home by 9:00pm due to a curfew. We made it a point to wander down to the closest checkpoint during the day with cookies and something to drink, spent some time chatting up the guardsmen.

They were serious about what they were doing, but were perfectly friendly, willing to chat and appreciative of the food and drink. Don't think we'd get the same reaction these days.

It's the only thing that is holding police accountable. For every clear assault though, I am sure there are 3 that people didn't get good film of.

Unfortunately, these videos are going to fuel the people to riot even more. It's just not OK for this to be happening in America.

What should NEVER be taken for granted is the sort of blatant lie such as that this man "tripped and fell." Since it was being filmed, how long did they think they would get away with the lie? This goes beyond a few rogue sadists in the Buffalo PD. The false statement makes it institutional.
