we, as a nation, wouldn't be having this talk today.

But it's not rare and it is all too common, with police violence against black people being rampant.

Not all acts of violence by the police make the headlines. It usually takes a death to do that. But that doesn't change the discrimination of, the abuse of power directed at, and the clear targeting of black communities by the police.
