The real reason everything is all screwed up
It is really simple. Republicans show up to the polls more on a consistent basis. There are not more of them. They just show up. Therefore they have gerrymandered, rigged elections, stacked courts, cut domestic spending for tax cuts to wealthy, enable racist cops, cut environmental regulations, ignored scientists, etc. Why is this so? Because they are more monolithic in their thinking and liberals tend to be more diverse leading to more factions and therefore makes it more challenging to build consensus. It seems like progressives are constantly navel gazing and sniping over relatively minor differences and tend to lose site of the big picture. All a Republican has to do to unite their factions is blow a racist dog whistle and rattle off a crude politically incorrect joke that triggers the libs. We have to thread all these needles. The thing to keep in mind, is if you can thread all those needles our majority is much larger. My hope is that the existential crisis we are facing will be a clarifying moment for Democrats and we become unified and focused like never before. The only option is overwhelming victory. We need to break their backs and crush them. We can sort out all the policy nuances once we have the power. We need to adopt what Reagan used to say, speak no ill of a fellow Republican. Speak no ill of a fellow Democrat. Keep the eye on the prize. Peace. Love. Enlightenment.
