Texas GOP official claims George Floyd's death was 'staged' to hurt Trump

The governor of Texas is calling for the resignation of Bexar County Republican Party Chair Cynthia Brehm after she posted a conspiracy theory on her Facebook page about the death of George Floyd, the Statesman reports.

Brehm, who has claimed that the coronavirus pandemic is a Democratic hoax, suggested in her post that Floyd’s death was staged in order to damage President Trump. The post has since been deleted.

“These comments are disgusting and have no place in the Republican Party or in public discourse,” said John Wittman, who is Governor Greg Abbot’s communications director. “Cynthia Brehm should immediately resign her position as chair of the Bexar County Republican Party.”

After which John clutched his pearls given to him as a gift by Susan Collins and reiterated his "grave concern" regrading the comments.

"I really hope that from now on Cynthia reads the RNC talking points before she lifts her white hood and speaks for the party. 'The Blacks' might misunderestimate her comments for racism. Only dear leader should be able to fan those flames during his upcoming glorious Nuremberg events. Now we are going to have to find a way to put that beautiful white toothpaste back into that filthy black tube..."

I am sure we will hear Mr. Floyd is a "crisis actor" living it up on some tropical island.

As absurd, even Onion-like, as that sounds, do NOT be surprised if something to that effect starts to manifest.

made the cops rich last night by accusing them of conducting a premeditated hit on Floyd. Maybe the dollars can flow from Fox to the cops and then to Floyd's family.

The cops aren't public figures so the bar is much lower than the one Scarborough has to clear in regards to Trump's accusations.

... According to an SAPD report, Brehm called police on December 16 to report that another woman, whose name was blacked out in the incident report, had assaulted her and refused to leave the party's Northside headquarters.

In a Thursday phone interview with the Current, Brehm said she made the call after former party operations director Monica Rojas struck her in the chest following a meeting. However, the other woman told SAPD's investigating officer that Brehm had committed the assault, grabbing her by the wrist and yelling obscenities, according to the police report ...

... “I am extremely troubled by the revelations that her husband pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving her minor child and that she failed to acknowledge this with Republican voters,” Shaeffer said. “On the contrary, she portrayed herself as a proud wife and touted her husband’s support. She needs to resign immediately. Republicans can’t allow their message of law and order, economic opportunity and honest, ethical leadership to be sidelined by a party chair embroiled in scandal.”

Brehm’s husband – Lt. Col. Norman Brehm, a retired member of the U.S. Army – pleaded guilty in 1999 to indecent liberties with a child. The incoming GOP chair told the San Antonio Express-News her husband flashed her then-14-year-old daughter from a previous marriage ...

She won't resign because she's in a runoff and on the ballot. She can't be removed because ballots are already mailed and they know it.
