1. Good question

I hope they realize that they need to go after all of the Trump-enabling GOPers like McConnell, Graham, et. al to help fully repudiate Trumpism. They stood by and enabled Trump to cause more damage than he might have otherwise been able to do without them.

7. It may depend if they are completely convinced Trump will definitely lose

In that case, Trump will be gone. If so, they might want to contribute to removing Trump, but prefer that Biden not have both houses of Congress.

Biden with both houses could move the country in a liberal direction.

Never Trumpers are totally with us in terms of getting rid of Trump but they still have their issues with "the left" within the Democratic Party and might not have accepted anybody else but Biden as the nominee, which is who we, of course, ended up with. But they're still largely Republicans and have more right-wing policy priorities and probably don't want to see anything "too left-wing" be pushed by Biden and/or Congress if we win big in November. They are allies-of-convenience when it comes to getting rid of Trump, but aren't likely to be helpful with pushing more progressive policies once he is gone. In short, we probably shouldn't expect them to turn on most other GOPers (even though they should)

Some will vote Republican, just not for Donnie. Some, like George Will, seem to think the party needs to be punished for its transgressions. Personally, I think they need to be dissolved.

The trumpists and his enablers need to dissolve into some goo that can be fired into space at the sun

9. Steve Schmidt voted straight Democratic in 2016 save one

He said that was for Romney in what he acknowledged was a faint hope of saving what was left of the sane repub element. I think Nicolle Wallace has said you have to turn the Senate blue and George Will too. I know that won't be enough for the righteous but I will take any help we can get in 2020, even from imperfect repubs, or former repubs.

This is what I am hearing from many of the prominent Never-Trumpers. It remains to be seem whether or not they decide to rejoin the GOP, IF and WHEN the party manages to reject neo-Fascism and retreat back to its former center-right position within the spectrum of American politics.

Mind you, for NeverTrumpers "normal" means the Bush administration.
