again for his crimes and for his moves to dominate Americans, they too are enablers.
ONLY the House can make a difference now - if he gets away with this there will be no election, or a completely rigged election. Impeach weekly if necessary - expose every crime, expose every enabler.
For Dem leaders to post on twitter that we should vote - and not to do everything possible to stop this descent into fascism is inexcusable.
Edit: See #25 re Morning Joe today.

(33,400 posts)It takes time to Impeach. They're not "enabling"; they already Impeached the Motherfucker, and the GOP spit in America's face in response.
November.

(30,613 posts)With Moscow Mitch running the Senate, another impeachment would be worse than a waste of time.

(15,160 posts)They certainly have another count of "abuse of power" to add to the last one.
I trust Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Schiff to make the right call on this, but it does feel like they need to do something.

(37,152 posts)Now Dems need to play hardball and impeach - put Republican cowards on the spot again and let Schiff educate the public about everything thats going on.
Thinking that there will be a normal election if he gets away with this is pure folly.

(37,152 posts)about Trumps move toward authoritarianism, talked about faith and hope.
Problem is, voters keep having faith and hope that the Dems will fight for them - but when they get in a seat of power, they too often refuse to use that power fully.
Time to start praying and hoping that there will be an election.

(12,449 posts)Those are state run, the feds have no power over them, meaning the Mango Menace can't stop, postpone or otherwise nullify them.
The answer is to GOTV in Nov. and defeat this maniac.

(37,152 posts)rig them - which already happened in 2016.
All 50 states have had election system hacks recently according to U.S. intelligence.

(37,152 posts)everything thats going on, every corrupt and criminal action thats being taken while the country suffers. Be honest with the people about needing them to pressure the Senate.
The stakes are way too high for a wait and see posture.

(111,110 posts)That would not need the approval of the US Senate, only a majority of the House.
It would serve no purpose to impeach again unless there were some Republican votes to go along.
polichick
(37,152 posts)But its completely rational to keep putting Senate Republicans in the spotlight - make them own everything.

(42,288 posts)New York Representative Jerrold Nadler said he would move to reduce funding for Barr's personal office as a response to what he called "continued defiance of Congress and improper politicization of the Department of Justice."
"We do not take these actions lightly or with any sense of joy. We have both a duty and a moral obligation to protect the rule of law in our country, and we intend to do just that," Nadler said.

(37,152 posts)They said thats what we are seeing here - and the next step is stealing the election, refusing to give up power. They said Congress needs to act now.
The video is not up yet - everyone should see it.

(9,121 posts)And he is, in spectacular fashion.
Hes losing the Defense apparatus as we speak. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs more or less denounced him, which is unheard of. The former Secretary of Defense just ripped him a new one. The current Secretary is distancing himself like mad.
Only the election is going to remove him. Once he loses, his constitutional powers will end. No military or police force will obey him at that point. If they have to drag him out, so be it.
Remember, the House decides any contested election. There are mechanisms in place. If he loses, hes going. We need to vote harder than weve ever voted before.
