We finally have an event that seems to uniting Americans in celebration and then during NASA's live coverage, they interview NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine who starts kissing Tump's butt about NASA finally has an administration that supports which is a complete load of crap. The privatization of space flight is something that was set in motion several years ago. You can see his asinine comments toward of the end of the video.

(3,860 posts)She told me that the senior researchers she worked for said that they only got to do real science when the Democrats were in power.
When the Republicans were in power all they were allowed to do was "tag" (get their names added as a contributor to someone else's research project).

(12,592 posts)Really. It would be consistent with his past actions. He could then claim that he was responsible for launching the first U.S. astronauts into space on a U.S. rocket. It would make a great applause line for his rallies and video for his ads.
Addendum: SpaceX was established May 6, 2002. Obama fully supported commercialism of space, but was fought by the Republican congress every step of the way. Commercial crew wasn't funded at NASA until 2015.

First of all, he'd have to read it off of a teleprompter.
Then he'd be reminded of something and go off-script several times. ""10...9...8...I just ate some great, wonderful chicken. I understand it was from Kentucky. Great state, Kentucky! That's where Mitch McConnell is from, you know. Not too many people know that...8...7...6...did you know that I had 6 million people at my inauguration. Big crowd - the biggest ever, they say. Uh...7...6...5....what do you mean we missed the launch window?"

(16,448 posts)As far I can tell the only thing truly revolutionary here is the recovery system for the first stage. Otherwise, its a rocket. Wake me up when we can take off from a runway and get into orbit without a rocket. That would be revolutionary.
Glad it worked out, glad were back and dont need Putins Russia to get to ISS, but thats about it.

(169 posts)But Nixon just couldn't continue what he viewed as "Kennedy's vision of the space program" and needed his own which paved way for the Space Shuttle program.

(53,410 posts)The manned space flights have started again. Trump is a mere footnote with an asterisk. Maybe this will be the one and only thing he enabled that isnt divisive, partisan, and just plain ugly.

(951 posts)But I turned it off immediately when they even mentioned trump. Way to ruin the moment NASA. Like that dumb fuck had anything to do with this event...
I really hope they keep track of viewership numbers, and that there was a massive drop off as soon as trump was mentioned
