The wife of the ex-police officer charged with third-degree murder for the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd says she is seeking a divorce, saddened by the events of the week.
Kellie Chauvin said in a statement that she sends her condolences to the family of Floyd, who died in police custody on Monday. Her husband, Derek Chauvin, restrained Floyd by placing his knee on his neck until he lost consciousness. In a video that went viral this week, Floyd can be heard expressing he can't breathe.
Kellie Chauvin said she is "devastated" by what happened and is filing for divorce from Derek Chauvin.
