Just saw this on another site. Comments?

CNN just reported that George Floyd's autopsy results showed that strangulation was not the cause of his death, but an air choke, manual strangulation, is usually diagnosed by a M.E. because it more often than not results in a fractured hyoid bone; however, a blood choke is accomplished by the compression of the carotid arteries, which run up either side of the neck, so a blood choke doesn't break the hyoid, and that is how Chauvin murdered George Floyd. Chauvin even adjusts his knee to make sure it is on the carotid, and that is why he keeps pressure on his neck for two and a half minutes after George stops struggling--he was making sure he was dead by keeping blood flow to the brain restricted. It should be 1st not 3rd degree murder, because it was premeditated and deliberate, and Chauvin knew exactly what he was doing, for cops are taught basic jiujitsu. The carotid arteries are attacked in a technique that is called a "rear naked choke" to render someone unconscious, and all cops are familiar with the rear naked choke; it is also sometimes referred to as a "sleeper hold" by catch wrestlers.

PLEASE, Milwaukee PD, do a demo and lets watch the officer, with a knee on his neck, tell us it is OK to watch him being choked out for 9 mins. and murdered. Can't wait. What? The fucking officer would never allow such a test because it might kill him. This test is only for Black and Brown ... you pass if you are DEAD.

a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation,” while the Hennepin County Attorney criminal complaint says that the "combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by police, his underlying health conditions...including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease...and any potential intoxicants in his system...”

So a healthy, sober, unrestrained man can survive having a knee pressing down on side of his neck for six minutes? That should be easy enough to prove!

That city is about 92% white & 5% Latino. Roughly 2% Asian and less than 1% black.
So, that's a fairly affluent suburb (median household $105k) that's preponderantly white with a demonstration.
I did not expect that.

I think they would have a hard time proving premeditation beyond a reasonable doubt. And he will have a very good legal team behind him. With a high profile case like this lawyers will be fighting over getting to represent him.

can't charge it.

I was surprised Freeman didn't ask for 2nd degree but going with a lesser charge to start with may be the smarter way to go. He can always up the charges later. Having to downgrade charges may indicate something was wrong with the case & been more upsetting to all.

First degree murder.

Wait until the protesters find this out. They'll be out until a trial ends, and no jury could help but know what the right decision is.

The only argument these cops have is that the whole country saw the video, which justifies a claim that they can't get a fair and impartial jury trial.

Fri May 29, 2020, 11:51 PM

that it is really hard to get a conviction on murder 1 because premeditation is so difficult to prove. That cops would have to have planned that murder beforehand.

Murder 2 does not entail premeditated planning, but the intent to kill happens in the moment like chasing someone down In a rage to kill them. Murder 3 is manslaughter, when a person kills another through their actions but there is no premeditated intent to murder. It’s much easier to prove.

It’s possible the cop planned the murder and just waited for the opportunity but proving that might be impossible.
