In Utah!!! This is cause for celebration if it's that close in bright Red Utah! If it were another Republican, they would be up by 30. Perhaps attacking mega-popular Romney (in Utah) wasn't such a good idea.

(16,927 posts)how can ANYBODY - yes, ANYBODY - have him up by even a "frog's hair?" (my DAD would have loved me saying that - and he also would have walked up to IQ45 and punched him in the face for the way he treats women!).
And, yes, if things are "shaky" in ""solid" states - consider seeing more "storm warnings" coming out of DC as we roll into summer!

(1,351 posts)Mitt Romneys speech on the Senate floor at the impeachment hearings was pretty powerful and, IMO opinion anyway, it made being a member of the GOP but standing up against Trump cool. I think Mitt Romney came across as the winner in that battle and Trump lambasting Mitt may have caused a circle the wagons attitude of Utah GOP.

(10,039 posts)Were they ever fans of Thrump? Considering his ongoing, childish, "feud" with Mittens? I like good new and all but can we keep it real? ...sometimes?

(10,039 posts)(KUTV) For the first time since his election in 2016, a majority of Utah voters say they approve of President Donald Trumps job performance, according to a new Utah Political Trends poll.
The survey, conducted for UtahPolicy.com and 2News by Y2 Analytics, shows 52% of likely voters approve of President Trump, while 45% disapprove, giving the President a net-positive approval rating of +7.
Utahs positive approval rating of Trump is above the national average. The Real Clear Politics average approval rating for President Trump is 52.1% disapproval and 44.7% approval. His national approval rating is a net-negative of 7.4.
Trump carried Utah in the 2016 election, but only with 45.5% of the vote. Since that time, polling has shown the presidents approval rating hovering below 50%. An October 2019 poll showed just 45% of Utah voters approved of Trumps job performance. The new survey shows a not insignificant 7-point jump in Trumps favor to put him over 50% for the first time.
Good ol Landsilde Lyndon won it in 1964.

(10,832 posts)Is the reason Trumpy has reportedly been having multiple meltdowns, raging at his staff, fuming over 'how unfair Covid-19 has been to . . . Him.'
If a Republican is shaky in Utah, it means the Republicans are losing everywhere.
So, sing it with me gang:
Keep digging that hole, Donnie!
It's working wonderfully. Atta boy.
