I think a lot of valid voters are going to get blocked from voting in the swing states. It is a

very serious issue, and there is less than two months before the general election

This is an obvious violation of the voting act of 1965, and unless this gets fast tracked through the courts, we are in trouble

and that's why so many of those states that picked a republican government HAD to do it now.. The next election cycle, those bums will probably be thrown out.

What is needed is a NATIONAL voter ID card that would be valid in ANY state.

Our government knows who is a citizen and who is not.

Anyone who has voted previously has had their vote accepted as legal, so they should all be "grandfathered" in, and any specific "new" requirements should apply only to NEW registrants.

High school graduates should automatically be registered on their 18th birthday, and naturalization ceremonies should come with an automatic voter registration..

Most schools require a birth certificate these days, so proof is easy at that point.

Those registrations would be as Independent..and the first time they actually voted in a primary, they could declare a party.

Proof of what your address is, could be cross-verified by presenting a utility bill, rent receipt, etc.

It should be a NON-expiring card, since your citizenship is lifelong(except in rare cases where one files to relinquish)..perhaps a new photo every 10 years could be included, but there is no earthly reason to make people jump through flaming hoops every time an election rolls around.

A death certificate would trigger an automatic removal..and a marriage (name change) would automatically update the database.

Minus something like this, we are all at the mercy of the occasional republican governor here and there, creating legal nightmares and stumbling blocks aplenty.

disenfranchisement, what happens then? Do people just accept it, are there riots in the streets? I really wonder and am worried about this. Florida in 2000, Ohio in 2004 and possibly PA and others in 2012...that would be 3 out of 4 stolen elections in the 21st century. Is this the new paradigm? Will we be a more open Plutocracy with voting becoming a more obvious illusion of choice?

George Carlin was more correct than any talking on the news today.

We just took it and got knocked on our collective butts.

We just took it again in Ohio 2004.

We have lost our collective ability to unite as proactive
citizens and demand change in the elections process,
change in balloting, and change in campaign financing.

11. Sadly, I think the people will just take it. Some of us may protest, but there won't be riots.

Those of us speaking out will be demonized as bitter liberals out for revenge because Obama lost. I can hear it now....
