I can only imagine what this means for the country.
My family was actually invited to another party across town. Only people going that I know of are the RWNJs. Person hosting is a nurse. Another person going is in medical claims.
Sadly, this pandemic has come down to every person for themselves.
Edit: and by parties, I mean more than the State allowed 10 people at a gathering... these are full on 30-40 person parties.

(21,174 posts)Husband and I had masks and gloves on. Our son had a gown and mask. While we were out in the yard the neighbors next door were having a birthday party and no one had a mask on. Then when we walked back to our car we saw a group of about 10 men sitting around drinking beer. No masks either. We both had our masks and gloves on until we got in the car.
I get it that people are tired of being cooped up but come on people. Masks save lives.

(58,785 posts)and I'd be asleep before I could name everyone who comes to my mind personally that doesn't hold true for.
Maybe estimate the numbers of people at those parties and then look up the local population to just force a little perspective, and get a little bit happier. You're far, far, far from alone in your condemnation of this behavior.
We're fairly near "The Villages" in FL, but if stories about parties there pointed out there are 30,000 people just in the Villages themselves, that'd ruin the sensationalism.

(12,265 posts)They have said they do not feel in danger because they are not old. We gave up trying to talk sense to them. The one house still has Bernie signs in the yard. 30 or so cars parked near it for the party.

She has received permission to make the trip, but she isn't sure she wants to this time.

Besides, we have been going to the outer tip of Cape Cod every year since 1984. We have local friends, favorite lonely beaches, favorite food, and sunsets that most printers of post cards would suspect were enhanced if presented with the original photos.
