I have always enjoyed her commentary. . This virus is indeed scary.

I have the coronavirus. Ive been sick for a week, and really, really fatigued, with muscle pain. So far, thankfully, no fever and my oxygen levels are fine. But I was super careful, wore masks, carried hand sanitizer. Havent really socialized with friends.

I only went out for necessities and wore masks. And did nature walks. This is obviously a very transmissible virus. People need to take a lot of care and the idea we can just reopen is very scary.

We need her voice? Really? For what? She fights against workers every chance she gets.

(9,952 posts)five days in. I hope this is as bad as it gets and she heals, though I hear about 5-7 days in as you are feeling better, you get knocked on your ass again and it comes in waves so we will see.
I LIKE this story cause it tells me though I do all she does and don't want it, I could do this. I am not into that month illness that you do not know if you are going to wake up in the morning, or not.

(34,085 posts)I'm sure my spouse would say the same thing - but she finds an excuse most days to go out of the house and chat with others. And I know she has been socializing (mostly outside, but less than 6' without masks) with elderly nuns which - on at least one occasion - turned into an indoors tour of a housing facility.
Especially when someone prominent comes down with COVID 19 and is willing to share about having the disease, having the details of exposure is really helpful to convince others about how easy it is to come down with this. There's an article in another thread here addressing the myth that just one or two visits here and there are ok. The more we know, the better we can protect ourselves and each other.

(34,085 posts)So it would be helpful to know if her nature walks were shoulder-to-shoulder with a buddy (for example). A fair number of people think that kind of behavior is OK, since they are outside. An example where that can be identified as the contact might help people to recognize the risks.

(297,465 posts)I wonder how she did get it? I'm always curious how anyone gets it.
We've been doing like Neera over here on Kauai.. and have had success but it's a much smaller area and well contained now.
One thing she didn't mention was Gloves.. which I also wear with my little spray bottle of sanitizer at the ready.
