NYT: How the Trump Effect Could Lift Democratic Senate Candidates

Republican incumbents in swing states have struggled to disentangle themselves from President Trump, whose voters are loyal but represent a minority of the electorate.

The G.O.P. has tightened its ranks; its reliable voters, hovering at around 40 percent of the electorate, tend to approve of almost anything President Trump does.

Yet throughout his term, from the 2017 battles over health care and tax cuts to his impeachment and subsequent acquittal early this year, very few people from outside the party have been coming aboard.

Mr. Trump has led the charge, but his effects are being felt far down the ballot. Two years after Democrats swept the midterm House elections by a historically wide margin and with historically high turnout, polling suggests they have a shot at a similar showing this year.

And in the high-stakes Senate, G.O.P. incumbents in swing states have struggled to disentangle their numbers from Mr. Trump’s stubbornly minoritarian status. That is putting Democrats in a strong position as they look to take back the Senate in the midst of a pandemic.

while trump keeps creating new democratic voters every time he speaks. THE ONLY strategy the GOP can play is MASSIVE voter suppression efforts. Democrats can counter as WE KNOW what those efforts look like and why we need a massive turn out and brave democrats to be election poll workers and watchers. The intimidation will happen at the polls as that is the new weapon the gOP will unleash in critical precincts that have high democratic turnout.

We know what is coming and we will deserve the outcome if we don't prepare and negate the efforts

...our efforts as a party on taking back the Senate. Because I firmly believe as the Senate goes, the WH will go. But, even if Trump somehow threads the needle again and gets another 77,744 vote victory, we will have the Senate to keep his silly ass in check. So, DON'T LET UP!!!! KEEP THE PRESS ON AND LET'S RUN UP THE SCORE!!! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!!!

I’ve yet to see it. No criticism, no moderating voices, no standing up to. They walk in lockstep with that orange monstrosity (aside from one trembling vote by Mittens, who hasn’t (I don’t believe) said a word since). This party of thugs have tied themselves to the tRump anchor; do not let the voters forget it for one minute. Let’s burn the whole party down.
