Republicans are pulling their support from a California House candidate after a report revealed a litany of social media posts on his personal account in recent years, including posts that accused prominent Democrats of murder and demeaned Muslims.
Ted Howze, who is running against vulnerable freshman Rep. Josh Harder (D) in Californias 10th Congressional District, was removed from the National Republican Congressional Committees Young Guns website that promotes challengers to Democratic incumbents and was renounced by the NRCC.
These statements are unacceptable and not indicative of the Republican Party and what we are building here at the NRCC with our diverse slate of candidates. We have pulled our support, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), the NRCC chair, said in a statement.
Howze was also rebuked by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who had endorsed him earlier in the cycle.

(32,626 posts)As a Republican, there is nothing unusual in what he says.

(58,785 posts)but these are among ones some good citizen(s) (Politico or to Politico?) provided for this district's voters to consider. Some were deleted and uncovered, others were displayed proudly (and strangely invisible to the Republican leadership) on his Facebook page.
Responding to a tweet from U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles, calling for Trumps impeachment, with How do we impeach say a Southern California Congresswoman whos been hitting the crack pipe too hard?
A retweet disparaging Palestinian-American organizer Linda Sarsour, saying if is she is the average Muslim woman than I finally understand why so many Muslim men would rather copulate with a goat!
Other posts called on all DACA recipients to be deported. #DeportThemAll, ... other posts that remained up on his personal Facebook account were equally as offensive (as those he deleted), and ranged from linking DACA recipients to pedophiles to describing Black Lives Matter activists as political slaves.
... Howze accused the Clintons of leaving a trail of bodies as long as the Mississippi River behind them. He compared recipients of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program to pedophiles: Surely they understand that pedophiles are dreamers too.
But Howze seems to have a particular love for Islamophobia. Heres one example of what he felt free to share on his Facebook page: On June 16, 2016, he shared a meme of a gun salesman addressing an unseen customer. The text overlaying the photo suggested breaking an Islamic dietary law should be a litmus test for purchasing it: Yes sir, your background check came back fine. But I gotta see you eat some bacon or its no sale!
And another, in which he speculated about Barack Obama being Muslim: ... he speculated on why Obama was admitting more muslim refugees: Could it be because Obamas father is Muslim? Or that his step father Lolo Soetoro is Muslim? Could it be that during his time living in Indonesia, which doesnt allow dual citizenships, that Obamas school records identify him as Barry Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen of Muslim faith!
And in a particularly egregious example, he posted a question of the day, which was, Can a Muslim ever truly be a good American citizen? His answer, unsurprisingly for such a committed bigot, was no.
