FedEx Says It Did Not Fire Workers Who Posted Viral Video of Racist Customer

FedEx Says It Did Not Fire Workers Who Posted Viral Video of Racist Customer

FedEx has denied reports it fired two of their drivers after a video of them confronting a customer over an alleged racist incident in Georgia was posted online.

The video, which was uploaded onto social media by Antonio Braswell, shows what appears to be the aftermath of an incident that took place in Leesburg. [snip]

In a statement, FedEx said it was aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.

It said it did not fire the men as they were employed by an independent service provider, which is "no longer providing service" on behalf of FedEx, but has offered employment to them both.

A statement added: "We are aware of the incident in GA that led to the release of two drivers employed by a service provider.

"We're offering employment while investigating to ensure an appropriate outcome. We take seriously allegations of discrimination, retaliation, or improper employment actions."

So in essence FedEx fired them. Hopefully the State attorney general will investigate this.

They suspended them
It's a way to fire them without having to pay them on the spot
In between the story broke so the company didn't finalize it and now have an out
