We survived a Civil War; We survived 2 World Wars; We survived Herbert Hoover and the Great Depression; We survived Nixon and his draconion ambitions; we survived 9/11 - and a con artist, narcissistic game show host and failed business man has done more damage in 3 years than all of those previous events mentioned....combined! Can our Democracy survive tRUMP?

(32,626 posts)the GOP brought him to the party, and they are keeping him there. So much of what they've been working towards for decades is coming to fruition. Trump doesn't know enough about government, to surgically remove unwanted parts, and install people that will accomplish the dismantling quietly behind the scenes. The GOP has been cultivating a race war, and on that Trump must have exceeded their expectations. Trump needs to go, but our government is still effed, with him or without him.

You cant fix something you dont acknowledge. Trump is showing us our own corrupt underside. We have a choice now. Embrace it or eliminate it.

We have two secret weapons this time around that I think are really going to make a difference:
President Obama & Eric Holders's All On the Line campaign to combat GOP gerrymandering and Stacey Abram's Fair Fight campaign to combat the GOP's voter suppression. We can not overstate the importance that these two things have in the next election.

(100,081 posts)Trump is a useful idiot to them. When he's no longer useful, they will cast him aside for someone who fits their criteria and caters to their cultish base. Trump is a symptom, Fox News is the real problem.
And if Joe Biden is elected, you can bet 100% that Hannity will lead the cult to object to his every single move with extreme scrutiny.
