Trump has 'legal' and 'moral responsibility' to wear mask on Ford plant tour, Michigan AG says

I don't think this rises to the level of LBN. What happens when he shows up and refuses to don a mask does. I think there was something about this at DU yesterday anyway.

He leaves Joint Base Andrews at 12:20. There's no time for an intelligence briefing this morning.

Trump has ‘legal’ and ‘moral responsibility’ to wear mask on Ford plant tour, Michigan attorney general says

Ahead of President Trump’s planned trip Thursday to a Ford manufacturing plant in Michigan, the state’s attorney general implored him to wear a face mask on his tour, citing a “legal responsibility” — and said he would be asked not to return if he fails to don a face covering.

In an open letter addressed to Trump, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) asked the president, who has consistently appeared barefaced in public and at the White House, to adhere to executive orders issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and Ford’s policy mandating masks to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Trump is scheduled to visit a factory southwest of Detroit that has been repurposed to manufacture ventilators.

“While my Department will not act to prevent you from touring Ford’s plant, I ask that while you are on tour you respect the great efforts of the men and women at Ford — and across this State — by wearing a facial covering,” Nessel wrote. “It is not just the policy of Ford, by virtue of the Governor’s Executive Orders. It is currently the law of this State."

Asked during a Thursday morning appearance on CNN what she would do if Trump doesn’t comply, Nessel voiced some skepticism about whether he would.

“If we’ve learned nothing over the last several years of President Trump in the White House, it’s that he doesn’t have the same level of legal accountability as everybody else,” Nessel said. “Honestly if he fails to wear a mask, he’s going to be asked not to return to any enclosed facilities inside our state.”

She added: “I think we’re going to take action against any company or any facility that allows him inside those facilities and puts our workers at risk. We simply can’t afford it here in our state.”

Over the past four years, it's clear that Trump doesn't recognize any moral or legal standards and he certainly doesn't take any responsibility for his actions. Assuming he remains the same irresponsible martinet he's always been, simply "asking" him not to come back isn't going to matter to him any more than a fart in a frying pan. You need consequences with some teeth.

because a woman requested it, he doesn't like Whitmer, he won't look as good as he thinks he does and rules don't apply to him.

If for no other reason, because it is an Executive Order from Governor Whitmer. He is just that perverse.

and he can divert his rage at the Governor rather than the company which is simply following the law and trying to avoid a legal consequence. Everyplace he wants to visit should just refuse to let him in without a mask, and then he would start wearing one because he craves being in the limelight.

won't wear a mask. Nessel better be ready to turn Trump away FOR REAL.

If he is let in, he wins. Don't let him win the opportunity to infect your workers.

Trump will tour the plant without a face mask. I don't think there's any doubt on this one.
