Sanders Campaign Asks Delegates To Sign Pledge They Won't Openly Attack Biden

Sen. Bernie Sanders suspended his bid for the White House last month, effectively ceding the Democratic nomination to former Vice President Joe Biden. But not before the Vermont progressive won hundreds of delegates around the nation.

Now, Sanders’ presidential campaign is asking those delegates to sign a social media policy and code of conduct agreement ahead of the party’s convention later this summer in an attempt to minimize party infighting or online attacks against Biden akin to the rampant mudslinging by supporters in 2016.

The Washington Post first reported that the Sanders campaign sent out the 5-page agreements that threaten delegates can be removed the delegation should they violate any provisions. The campaign also asks signatories to “refrain from making “negative statements about other candidates, party leaders, Campaigns, Campaign staffers, supporters, news organizations or journalists.”

Biden is the candidate. It won't destroy the party.

Republicans are shitty, unprecedented suffering of the working class, etc. "But, I think Pelosi, at least, unlike the Republican leadership, said, 'You know what, we have terrible suffering in this country, we need to give out money to the cities and towns ...'"

At least?

In 2016 the Sanders camp was infiltrated by uncompromising and vicious Russian trolls. They amplified the most immature and un-Democratic elements of Sanders in an attempt to pour water on his message.

To what amount that phenomenon was discouraged is debatable—but not here. Let’s move on.

2020 Sanders delegates will be there at any convention apparatus to represent the candidate Sanders—and he’s asked for peace.

Any delegate who won’t agree to these simple, Sanders platform planks is either a loose cannon or crisis actor in planned theatrics. Tie down the loose cannon or yank the performers from the stage, either one. But STFU.

I know BS supporters that plan on just sitting home. Biden will get them 75% of what they want but that is not good enough and they expect 100 % perfection and purity. The ironic thing is Biden has a better chance to get even some of the things they want passed through congress. Sanders would have got nothing through (but I still think he would lose the GE vs Trump)

I suspect many will not sign it. They would always prefer to lose on purity every time.
