"Karen" gets upset that a store won't let her shop without a protective facemask.

Karen gets upset that a store won't let her shop without a protective facemask. She then tried to pretend like she's the victim, despite the store giving her options. This is pure arrogance. https://bit.ly/3e5L5Pt #COVIDIDIOTS #COVID19

Essentially anything that restricts oxygen intake or efficient use thereof - or conditions that are incomptible with emotional reaction to or compehension of the need to wear a mask coupled with resistance to wearing one, or a need to see the facial features of the person wearing the mask as an early alert to a seizure (for example).

necessarily make it harder to breathe - so any disease that diminishes the ability to breathe, or the ability to use the oxygen brought in, will make masks harder to wear. (Unless, of course, they are completely ineffective, in which case there is really no point of wearing them.)

Private business does not have to cater to her whims regardless of what she thinks. She has no rights to force them to do anything.

Kind of ignorant. She tried to claim she has a medical condition that keeps her from wearing a mask, then changed the story to shopping for private things.

I will likely use one for that purpose from now on.

Additionally, I already have a small stash of disposable masks for those occasions when I dust the house, because house dust always sets me off. The masks were picked up for free at various clinics where I had appointments: "Please use mask if you have a cough or cold."

I'm sorry to hear this doesn't work for everyone.

... had me, specifically, in her list of ex-patients specifically for her homemade cloth masks.

Now, if a person is already wearing an oxygen mask, that should qualify for mask purposes -- and it's not that hard for people who use oxygen to get around to switch from a cannula to a mask style. About the only "respiratory distress" that's gonna be exacerbated by a mask is the kind that requires oxygen/nebulizer/a puffer.

Still, they very politely offered to personally shop for her for no additional charge if they did not wish to wear a mask, and her objection was that what she wanted to get was "private". Girl, the checker would see it if you came out of the store -- nothing is "private", and retail people have seen it all, they do not CARE!

Also, I don't know what her "condition" is but I have 2 different old lady things that can make getting a good breath of air challenging. I am absolutely not physically comfortable in a mask for the same reason I avoid anything close to my face. Even in a car, I need a little air movement to be comfy. But comfort isn't the same as health.

I feel lucky I can still manage a mask for short periods of time. Some of my friends can't and aren't getting out at all and having no visitors.

I help plan and manage a large event each spring so in the fall and winter I have lots of meetings and such.

We are testing a new variety of tomato we found called, I think, Heatwave. Supposed to take the heat. The wife just planted it last week. But we are not optimistic. It’s not the first supposedly heat resistant variety out there.

But our Chayote plants are kicking it and love the heat. I grew in Louisiana where we called them Mirliton and we really like them.

Have a nice evening.

If you want to "get" things in a store and you "don't want (someone) to see" them, I believe that's called STEALING.

I had a hard time finding flour, too. But I lucked out. Flour at King Arthur's website was out of stock for a while, but I checked their website everyday, and finally they got it in. I was able to order three 10 pound bags (their limit).

My son's girlfriend finally found flour at the grocery store, and bought three 5 pound bags (their limit).

Yeast was another problem, but luckily the local bakery gave me more than enough.

One of our grocery stores repackaged both flour and yeast in plastic containers they use in the deli department. I never thought I'd see the day that would happen.

I bake a lot. I bake all our bread, but unlike Karen, I'm thrilled to find others baking as well. I think it's wonderful, especially if they're doing it as a family project. Karen ought not begrudge others from this enjoyment.

I laughed when she suggested people take up crocheting because don't you just know another Karen would gripe about all these people buying out all the yarn, and that maybe they ought to take up bread making.
