FLIPPABLE: Martha Paschke for IL-HD65
Martha grew up as the child of missionaries, moving frequently and experiencing life around the globe, from the jungles of Papua New Guinea to boarding school in Australia, as well as numerous locations within the United States. After graduating with her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Family Studies from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN, Martha and her husband Jeremy, a high school physics teacher, dreamed of settling down in one place and establishing strong roots in their community. They fell in love with the Fox Valley, where they have resided for over 18 years and are raising their three children.
Martha continued her education, earning a Master's Degree in Teaching from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. She has taught middle school social studies, provided womens healthcare services as a labor doula, and currently works in the field of mental healthcare. In addition to a professional career dedicated to helping others, Martha also has a passion for volunteer service and community organizing. She has been an active leader in her church for 18 years, secretary of the Geneva Library Foundation, co-leader of the local Moms Demand Action group, a Girl Scout leader, and a volunteer with World Relief. She also founded and led a grassroots community organization whose mission is to effect positive change in the community.
Martha believes that it is important to have representation that reflects the values of the community, which is why she is running for the opportunity to represent the people of the 65th House District. Martha is an ethical and compassionate leader who will work hard, listen to the concerns of the citizens of the 65th, and collaborate with members of the State Legislature to create solutions that work.
