That's the chain of altering the facts.

Right now, Trump's loyal red governors, like Fla's Ron DeSantis, don't get federal cover for the undercounting they're pressuring their coroners to do. And they want it.

But professionals like coroners and medical examiners can keep two sets of books, too, and the truth of causes of death will eventually come out.

In time we’ll know with some precision how many deaths can be attributed to COVID19 through excess death statistics. We know how many people die, on average, each day in a typical year. The excess over that can largely be attributed to COVID19. Trump cannot make this go away.
