THIS administration is filled with Sycophants and Narcissists, and Dr. Fauci is coming with FACTS. And those FACTS are not good for them and their SPIN.
Now Dr. Fauci says the Death figures are Too Low, while the Misadministration says they are too high. They cannot let that stand. It goes against the Collective. There is unrest with the Borg.
Let me finish by saying that when it happens, people will all claim it is a huge moment, how this will be the breaking point for the public. But his supporters and the Cult Members will stick by him. This will just be another weekly catastrophe. Another day.

Like Fauci, Hugh became a hero in a later episode.

(9,998 posts)I know most are not surprised. This was the one individual in the Administration that people praised far more often than they criticized. He was not perfect, but for this Administration, he was a bright and intelligent light. Deep down, we all knew that couldn't last.
I'm actually kind of surprised he made it this long. But I knew when the needed a scapegoat, and for the storyline to change, he would 100% be the fall guy. There was no question.
"dr." Birx on the other hand is playing the game correctly. She knows her place, she knows that she has to be part of the collective to survive.

But it's all going to end badly.
Trump is going to find out that he can't lie or cheat or coerce to get the virus to do his bidding.
The virus won't cooperate for Trump.
The virus is just going to continue to do what it does so well: make people very sick and kill them.
But Trump is too stupid and full of himself to figure that out.
Trump will continue to try to suppress the statistics but eventually the folks in the Red states will freak out when they start having to bury their friends and family members like everyone else.
sop
(10,224 posts)throughout mostly red states, he could ignore the pandemic there with no consequences. Now the shit's getting real for his base. Fauci's trying to warn them, and the POS won't stand for it.
Jarqui
(10,128 posts)When folks you know start winding up in coffins, it gets very real for those who knew them. Attitudes change. Very few attitudes - no rational ones - shift towards more deaths. They nearly all move away from the political position associated with all the dying.
The elderly are not going to appreciate being asked by the GOP to die for the economy the elderly worked so hard for so many years to create. They'll be bitter when their spouse of decades gets wheeled out to a refrigerator truck without them being able to say goodbye.
It's not a difficult concept to grasp for those not Trump.
Hoping he can lie about the deaths proclaiming obituaries are fake news - that's not going to work.
The virus won't care - it will just keep killing. And it will bury the reelection economy with it's dead.

(10,667 posts)President Donald Trump voiced frustration Wednesday at the nation's top infectious disease specialist after he warned a day earlier against reopening schools and businesses too quickly.
"I was surprised by his answer, actually," Trump said when asked about Dr. Anthony Fauci's warnings during televised congressional testimony that reopening states too quickly could have dire consequences.
"It's just -- to me it's not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools," Trump said.

It would be best if he were pushed out and could join the Biden campaign. Put him on TV constantly to talk about all of the reasons the Administration is fucking up. Then, when Biden is elected, elevate him to a cabinet post.
