We keep hearing about " testing testing testing". Can someone please point me to how this

Will/can reasonably and realisticly be accomplished?

Who? How many? How often?

I have not seen or heard of an actual workable plan. Just about unreal numbers.

Thanks!!

more tests --> more detected infections --> lower death rate (same #, lower %)
more tests --> improved handling at state and local level --> lower infection and mortality rates --> legitimate re-openings

if Trump's team pulled this off, he'd be quite formidable indeed, with a much better chance at a 2nd term.

instead he's decided to treat this as a PR problem, so we will get PR "solutions" which so far amount to advertising pure vaporware snake oil to America and pumping products where he or his cronies have a significant stake.

public, nursing homes, food processing plants

Everyone else as they do flu vaccinations

This sets up a baseline

Anyone positive needs to self-isolate, and contact tracing followed

Social distancing, and masks need to be utilized until a vaccine

After the baseline established, Anyone with symptoms needs priority testing and contact tracking

That is how I visualize it. Not going to happen though

... people per every one million infected.

The problem in SK and HK and China right now is they're still reacting because they're not doing 1% rolling because there are litterally no one testing positive.

But as we know about SK that could end in one night !!

1 person flared 100 people in one night that's all it takes.

In NYS, apparently my region (North Country. Yes, yes, Elise IS my Rep! Aren’t I just so lucky?),

We haven’t quite met the criteria for reopening.

We need to test 500 more.

Soooo, is that 500 per day? Ot do we just need to shove the stick thingy up the snouts of 500 more people, absolute?

I love what Cuomo is doing, but not sure how some of the reopening criteria will work.

And to be totally honest, I am glad we are still delayed. We are the destination for many downstaters come the summer. LOTS of summer camps up here that come alive around Memorial Day. Some come up for weekends, others stay the summer.

If we don’t do this right, WE could become a new hotspot. I know it’s a double edged sword. We will need the tourism dollars, but we can’t overload our tiny rural hospitals.

Sigh, well, time for my daily YouTube puppy video. I LOVE “Oliver the Beagle”.

I’m in the North Country region which means we have not met the required benchmarks.

As I said, we have to test 500 people.

Had at least one symptom and now opened it up to all. It is drive through testing, and you sign up for a time in an hourly slot. We are going this afternoon. I guess I will see how smooth it is. I understand they are doing the same in the Milwaukee and Madison areas. I just hope I am not taking the test away from someone who needs it more. I had a doctor's appointment, and the doctor said there are now plenty of tests.

But I see ads in Indiana that they are doing testing for all, without doctors order. You go on line and set up an appointment for one of the many drive up clinics.
