Great spot, though!

(17,600 posts)One 30 second ad for each reason.
Script:
Mitt Romney asked to see 10 years of tax returns from potential VP candidates, including Paul Ryan.
Yet he will only allow the American people to see 1 year of his own tax returns.
Why won't Mitt Romney release more tax returns?
We can think of at least 5 reasons.
Reason # __
{spot for that reason}
Watch for the other 4 reasons soon.

At the heart of it is Mitt's sense of entitlement.
Showing his taxes would send a mixed message about his status as a chosen person.
There are things that elite just shouldn't have to do.

(2,711 posts)Especially at the end with the open-ended innuendo "What else is he hiding"?
This open-ended, bogeyman based fear is really more their tactic than ours.
And we don't have to do it. We can run against this man as a person who believes that throwing over one-hundred thousand Americans out of work in order to ship their jobs over to China is a legitimate business practice. It isn't. It's class warfare.
It isn't necessary. It was the result of a conscious policy decision to make America a country of consumers rather than a country of producers. And that is bad policy. Whether it is being practiced by Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. or Obama. But at least we don't have to vote for someone who directly profited to the tune of nine figures from the policy.

(116,464 posts)...not an "open-ended, bogeyman based fear." It's a question. I mean, what does asking a legitimate question have to do with "fear"?

(2,711 posts)I don't like it. That's just me.
I would rather not tilt at what might be when we have such an obvious, big, fat target in what is.
The guy wants to run on his record. Let's meet him right there.
I think it's dangerous to conjure up imaginary threats based on the unknown. Because, the strategy can be met by making the unknown known and showing that there is nothing there and then we look like . . . well not good.
Run with it if you like, but to me it doesn't feel right.
I could be wrong.

...this is not about what Mitt wants. He needs to release his damn tax returns. The public needs to know whether or not the man running for President is a tax cheat.
They ask nominees for their tax returns before confirmation. Mitt asked his potential running mates for 10 years' returns.
Mitt is not above everyone else.

(297,655 posts)know but I'm thinking there's even more nefarious reasons that could be in the TOP 5.
This needs to be circulated because some are thinking mitt's tax return issue has gone away. Not so.
