(9,670 posts)Supreme Court precedents don't apply to Republicans!
It's right there in the Constitution, next to "Obamagate".
There's nothing just about GOP justice.

(21,349 posts)but I think Trump's lawyer is doing a better job that the House lawyer. I have a bad feeling about this.

(6,974 posts)The House lawyer arguing the case for fat ass to turn over his taxes to Congress could be Clarence Darrow, but let's not forget that the High Court is still 5-4 putin-leaning thanks to Evil MoscowMitch. I have the same sinking feeling that you do that this ruling will be going fat asses way

(18,634 posts)Whitewater was different because the Clintons were criminals.
The fact they never found any criminality just means they were very good at hiding it.
So there!
And then the Republican has to walk away as fast as possible to avoid responses.

(493 posts)Absolute immunity isnt a thing. This should be an absolutely scathing 9-0 decision from SCOTUS. I'm wondering if enough SC Justices will think of their legacy, immunity from retribution, and their country - and make the correct call here... Be prepared for the 3 am rage tweets....
Yet a week from now he will still be in power all of his cronies will still be committing crimes and nothing will have changed.
They will delay ruling - late summer.

(50,273 posts)One thing that surprised me was how brief it was. I don't know what I expected, but I guess I thought it would be a day long affair. In any case, it was hard to detect much sympathy for the Trump position from anyone. If they decide for Trump, after all, they would be telling the world the Supremes were wrong on Watergate, Jones and Whitewater and that the founders were wrong when they decided to have a president and not a king.
