It's. Too. Soon.

So, I’m now sitting outside, enjoying a nice evening rain shower. Calming. Needed after waiting an hour for food from a local Italian place. Ended up getting a refund as, after 90 min since order was placed online, they hadn’t even started the order yet. Several others were getting refunds too. So we ended up with Arby’s for Mother’s Day dinner!

But the restaurant

It’s small. Maybe 8-10 tables. 6 were set up for reservations and I never saw fewer than 3 seated

Two other tables and some random chairs had been commandeered by people like me, waiting for a to-go order. I’d already waited 20min past estimated time in the van in the parking lot

Cashiers had masks but kept pulling them down or off. Some guests had masks but would pull them down to talk (wtf? You can talk thru a mask!)

Most waiting didn’t have masks. A very elderly group was in there dining and eventually left and they were not wearing masks

A pregnant woman came in to pick up an order. She looked to be about 8 months (why wasn’t hubby in there??). She had a mask but it was pulled down around her neck. She never had it over her face.

We’re fucked

It’s a restaurant/country store combo, and we just sat there and watched a steady parade of people go in and out while we waited. About 50/50 masks/no masks. At least the girl that was working the curbside pickup had a mask on.

just made it mandatory for employees of essential businesses to wear masks. Grocery stores are considered essential businesses. I get my groceries delivered like I have for years and I want the delivery people to wear masks. I do when I get the deliveries.
