contact tracing, and shutting down local areas as hotspots re-emerge, has proven effective in many countries.

The key is that the vast majority of people have to cooperate and self-quarantine if they have it or if they've had contact with someone who has it.

This is impossible if our leaders keep saying that our freedom to infect others is more important than anyone else's right to live.
