'Republicans for Biden' movement organizing to take down Donald Trump: 'It's going to take off'

Now, according to a new report in The Daily Beast, there are efforts underway to organize a more formal “Republicans for Biden” effort.

“Interviews with several of the most prominent NeverTrump Republicans reveal that for now, the nascent effort is loosely defined and could ultimately take a variety of forms. But preliminary talks about messaging, engagement, leadership, and roll out are starting to be broadly sketched out,” The Beast reported, citing “sources directly familiar with the matter.”

One former top GOP official summarized the situation.

“I’ve had several conversations with people who have approached me. It’s going to take off, it’s going to happen,” the former official told The Beast. “The question is to what degree and form it does.”

The Beast also reported on who may be involved:

Whether Repukes actually vote D in November or not - many of them won't - but their blind loyalty to Chump is quietly fading. Many will decide to stay home in November and hope for Biden to win, because they don't want 4 more years of Chump's insanity any more than we do.

Not every Repuke is a complete idiot, like Chump would have us believe. They're seeing the cracks in the mirror now, however many are keeping quiet about it. They just won't vote when the time comes. What I like about Joe Biden is that he doesn't scare the Repukes the way a more radical/liberal candidate might have. Joe seems more like an "old-school" Democrat who can debate with the best, listen to his opponents' issues, and perhaps modify his programs to get a win. That's what a true leader does, and most of our best Democratic Presidents have been great at compromising to get a win.

Joe is a man that everyone can feel comfortable with, while almost nobody feels that way with Chump in the Oval Office.

They would be much better off dealing with the smooth, experienced Biden than with a corrupt, incompetent orange oaf whose embarrassing words and deeds they have to defend every damn day now.

Of course, we shouldn’t turn away anyone who works to rid us of this monster. Just keep in mind that When Trump is gone, Republicans will return to the same tactics that brought us here in the first place. To paraphrase, when people show you who they really are, believe them the first time.

Even if they support Dems all they way down the ticket in 2020, they will ultimately create and empower the next Trump when they get the chance.

tRump will have an awful time handling this. His anger will cause him to reveal his cowardly and corrupt re-election plans by default, as that’s how his mind works.

Pour it on. After the election I think a celebration for the turncoat Republicans would be warranted.

Unlike us, they are willing to sacrifice 4 years of getting their way to rid us of this pariah.

I don't trust them, I don't like them, I won't support them when Biden gets elected.

But I admire their ability to see the big picture, beyond politics. Trump will bring ALL of us down if he steals another election.

The Republican brand has been covered in excrement since Nixon, but until now, most otherwise-rational Republicans (or Republicans who wish to be seen as rational) have been able to tolerate the stench if it meant stacking the Supreme Court or cutting taxes on the wealthy. Now, they realize that the stench is overpowering to too many voters, and they realize it endangers the future of their party and whatever gains they've made since the Reagan era. The brand is now so covered in shit, it can no longer really be seen.

They're our allies only in the enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend sense.
