Texas restaurants that reopened at partial capacity last week have a choice to make: Whether or not their employees should wear masks during the coronavirus pandemic.
One restaurant company landed on a decision that has some employees weighing their safety versus their jobs.
No face masks or face coverings of any kind.
That's what a back-of-the-house employee at a Hillstone Restaurant Group establishment in Dallas was told last week, as restaurants prepared to reopen at 25% capacity, according to CBS Dallas.
That employee, who did not want to be identified publicly, expressed discomfort and was told to think about it and then was removed from the schedule, the employee told CBS Dallas' Brooke Rogers.

I'm really concerned about wearing a mask in public at some future date and having some rethug come after me.
Still trying to figure out how I will handle it if it comes down to me confronting some asshole.

If a friggin car wash can do it, why can't a restaurant? You know, the folks who prepare, then serve the food we actually eat.

(21,607 posts)the same people who say they won't wear a mask because "freedumb", won't give others the same rights to exercise their own freedom and wear a mask if they choose.
Congress needs to make this a law for the next 3 months at least.

Scanning through their "Dining Guidelines & Dress Code" and other parts of the web site, I don't see a single word about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sorry folks, I prefer continuing to hone my cooking skills at home for quite a spell and until I see some level of sanity returning to money-driven corporate America.
