THAT is what is essential and good about society...
THAT is what must be saved, protected, defended to the last breath...
THAT is why the fight MUST continue, even when I feel beaten by it all, even when the losses are too much today, when quitting sounds like an option instead of an end...

As long as I can draw breath and the strength to stand, to walk, to crawl even...I owe the effort to little ones like that, to the future because there IS good and there IS hope, even when the skies are darkest and the fight seems too exhausting. even in the face of callous greed and especially to confront indifference from privilege to underclasses, to once more reach out to convert just ONE person from not caring enough to caring enough to get involved.

The picture of little Erin, bright eyed and determined...if that baby can fight and strive to survive and thrive, what the hell is my excuse? Too discouraged? Too tired? Too afraid of losing? Or just to scared to face defeat again?
Bollocks! she will say one day....WANKERS! she may think....COWARDS!, we must never allow her to lament.

Her eyes are strength and condemnation - strength to carry on, strength to find one more 'why' to go to the next day, hour, minute or moment...and condemnation if we don't borrow that strength when ours is flagging so that we can give it back to the next Erin in need and the next stranger whose life we can influence, affect, save... It is only together that we can overcome this current disaster - giving when we can, carrying others when they can not, and gaining strength from numbers

Godspeed Erin, and may we all remember just what it means to fight and to carry on through your example and your family's story!
