(111,110 posts)Saving the Post Office is a very popular notion, especially when taxpayer dollars are going to save cruise ships but the Republicans are willing to let the Post Office go under. Democrats, if wise, would use this as a political issue.

(5,127 posts)should get a bail out. Talk about who that directly affects. Who gets paid by the state? Policemen, Firemen, Sanitation, Teachers, State Hospitals, Gov run clinics, bus drivers, etc - these are the people McConnel and Trump happily want to lose jobs - Somebody should put up a punishing ad with the thousands of people lining up at food banks because they are out of work. This is what Mcturtle and Trump want to happen by not funding the states, while funding big businesses.

How in the hell does Carnival, a cruise ship company that pays virtually no federal income taxes, receive a bailout, but the Postal Service, the most popular government agency in America, does not?
The Post Office is essential. Cruise ships are not.
Now this, Bernie and I agree on. Good for him for speaking out.
