McConnell Demands Liability Protections for Business

"SNIP.....

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said “the next coronavirus relief legislation must include liability protections for business owners who reopen,” Bloomberg reports.

“As he reaffirmed the Senate will return May 4, McConnell said that without protection from lawsuits, business owners could end up with years of legal claims over their efforts to restart the economy.”

......SNIP"

"Says he wasn't reccommending bankruptcy for states" (behind paywall)

To Whit: Nobody will be denied a UI claim, nor will any granted UI claim be withdrawn ... because an employee leaves, or declines to return to after a layoff or furlough, a non-essential position, due to a 'sincerely held' concern over CV-19 exposure.

And that's a bare fucking minimum. Anything less, and I will be royally PISSED.

I'm thinking of barriers for cashiers, face masks and gloves.

Medical protection for employees if they get sick and long term care if this virus fucks up any vital bodily systems.

Always ask for more than you want so you can negotiate down to what you really want. So what else should be added to the list?

employees with PPE. They force their politicians to re-open too soon and then want immunity when their employees get sick and/or die. By "force" I mean use their legal bribes (donations) or the threat of not donating, or worse, donating to their opponents.

This is some serious bullshit. Republicans are trying to give nursing home owners, meatpackers and other businesses blanket immunity for gross negligence on top of creating an environment where employers can force employees back to work and not have to offer basic things like PPE and cleaning supplies because they are immune from all legal implications.
