Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) referred to his state as a "waiting room" for seniors who will soon die.

The Florida governor made the remarks at a coronavirus briefing on Sunday after noting that some nursing home patients had been infected by asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers.

"Florida is ground zero for the nursing home, we're God's waiting room," he explained. "We have a huge number of facilities, a huge number of residents."

DeSantis went on to brag that the state has "only 1.2" coronavirus deaths per 100,000 nursing home residents.

What are the odds that many of those in his "waiting room", likely voted for him...and will do it again, should they survive?

By learning what he really thinks of them.

After a certain age, you’re supposed to wise up and learn what’s what. They got what they voted for.

EDIT: Like my Dad used to say: “There’s no fool like an old fool.”

for years, if not decades. We lived, and worked, in Florida for 10 years. The median age where we lived was 62. Forget Season. How old do you think the Snowbirds are?

We do support Florida's economy and without us "waiting room" folks, the state would still be filled with cows and crackers with Disney in the middle

to Florida to live nice lives of ease and leisure. Many sell up and go back to be near family and old friends some years later when they can no longer live reliably on their own. As always planned or held as an option.

DeSantis may be talking nursing home patients, but it's going to be heard by a lot of older voters as the hoary "Florida as the place old people go to die" insult. But however they take it, they're not going to like his attitude.
