With Trump supporters, cognitive dissonance does not exist (those are two big elitist words anyway, with too many syllables). Any stupid, moronic, or off color/bigoted statement, can simply be explained away as sarcasm or “just joking”.

He does not have brains, but he is well funded, and backed by many wealthy people who stand to lose much if he is not in power.
