He's been said to see himself as the maitre'd at Mar-a-Shithole. Roy COHN would have parties ("If you're indicted, you're invited!1) where all the attendees took their turn heaping sychophantic crap to him. SHITLER does that at his "Cabinet" meetings. Then the rallies of the zombie true believers.

It is possible that the big time players, as opposed to the zombie believers, are aware of their playing the game for the purpose of whatever greed thing they are in it for. And perhaps SHITLER sees them just as his craven conquests, not believing their crap. But the rally zombies are a balm to him, because they actually are believers.

But as for the press, he sees their assembling for him as homage, at least at the level of a tinge of self-delusion. The best he can do is not to see them forced to be there because of their job but rather somehow in honor of him personally.

In the end he makes no distinction of the various motives for the people in front of him - whether he sees through some, believes others, or distorts others.
